We just recently got back from a Fabulous Family Reunion. Part of the fun there was making these cute stenciled t-shirts for the kids. |
I think they turned out pretty cute! What do you think??? |
I did learn some tricks along the way. |
#1- Make sure your craft razor is really sharp, it makes for cleaner lines when cutting out the stencils.
#2- Make sure you iron the freezer paper (shiny side down) on a very flat surface, it helps to adhere it to the shirt more evenly.
#3- Make sure you put something like a piece of cardboard of card stock inside the shirt under the stenciled part so the paint doesn't leak onto the back of the shirt.
#4- Use a sponge brush, and use light dabbing motions to apply the paint. I found that regular painting just aloud the paint to seep into the non-stenciled part.
I followed instructions from this tutorial from danamadeit.com you can find it here. |
I found these stencils for you guys here:
(some are just pumpkin carving stencils, but they still work great)
This was a fun Project! Now I'm going to make some for me! Happy Crafting! |
