Candy Dish/Bubble Gum Machine.

I made one of these in the past for my Sister (Shown) and decided to make one for a Christmas gift.

Quick tutorial:

Supplies:
6-1/2 Inch by 6-1/2 inch Terracotta Pot.
5-3/4 of an Inch Terracotta saucer for the lid.
1 round glass vase with a flat bottom appox. (4-1/2 inches by 5-1/2 inches)
one wooden ball with flat bottom
Acrylic Paint(any color)
Mod Podge
Clip Art of your choice
E 6000 Glue

Paint the Terracotta pot, Saucer and Wooden ball. Let dry.

Glue the Round Glass Vase on the bottom of the Terracotta Pot to make the Base, and the Wooden Ball on top of the Saucer to make the Lid.

Let the glue dry for a good 24 hours. It's strong stuff, and use in a well ventilated area.

Mod Podge the clip art onto the Pot. Make sure to let it dry first and then seal it with one more coat of Mod Podge on the entire pot, except the glass part, no Brainer!

Anyways this is not my best tutorial ever but the pictures pretty well explain how to do it. To finish it off, fill with your favorite bubble gum or candy.

If you have any questions just email me.

  1. Great job! As a decorative artist, this is one of the first projects I learned how to make back in 2000 ... and glad to see they are still popular! they make great gifts for kids, teachers, neighbors, co-workers, etc...and are also big sellers at craft shows. I never get tired of making them or painting them. Love yours!! Merry Christmas!
